"Yo, Yo, Yo Dude. Ya gotta come to Synod, Dawg.
A'ight?
It's gonna be off the chain, yo! Get here quick,
because quick is better than fast!
... you may not have the strongest faith, but
you'll make it big in Tulsa!" |

Paul did not seek the glory
of being an 'Israeli Idol' when he became an apostle.
He reminds us that "Christ
has set us free to live a free life," (Galatians 5:1) because idolizing
things and people threaten our true freedom in Christ. However, our
culture teaches us that idolizing people and things is not only good but
also desirable.
"American Idols: SYW" will
give us the opportunity experience life without idols. |
Through the study of
scripture and living in the unique community of faith that is Synod
Youth Workshop, we will explore and expose the five areas of idolatry:
celebrity status
desire for approval
self-absorption
escape from reality
and success at any price.
