SYW in the news! Tulsa World:
Another week of inspiration,
mission and fun is marked in history and carried in the hearts and minds of
350 young people and adults who attended the 2004 Synod Youth
Workshop. Faith leads us to trust that God works with us and through us in
the certainties and uncertainties of every day life.
Since the beginning of creation, we have been God's
curious children. We want answers. We want guarantees. And we want it all
RIGHT NOW!
The Theme Enablers
The Rev. Sherry Holloman & Gary
Holloman from Odessa, Texas.
Sherry is the former associate pastor at
First Presbyterian Church, Odessa and former pastor of Andrews Presbyterian
Church in Andrews, Texas. She is currently a fourth-grade teacher for
Barbara Jordan Elementary School in Odessa. Gary is the Director of Youth
Ministries at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Odessa, Texas and serving on
the Youth Council of Tres Rios Presbytery. They are the proud parents of
Ryan, a Texas Tech student, and Jordan, an eighth-grade student at Bowie
Junior High, Odessa.
HOW IT WORKS
The Workshop will function through 30 groups
of approximately 12 persons each in exploring the theme, building a sense of
community, and coming to terms with personal and faith issues. Registrants
will also find a sense of unity with the entire group as we gather to
celebrate in worship and in recreation.
WHO CAN ATTEND
Senior Highs who will be entering or leaving
grades 10-12 and their adult advisors (minimum age 23) may register for the
Workshop. In order to receive confirmation of registration for the Workshop,
at least one adult registration must accompany every four youth delegate
registrations from any church, and only churches which send an adult may
send youth. All registrants are expected to attend the entire workshop.

COST AND REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
The total cost for the Workshop is $250 per person. This includes $60
for registration fee and Youth Workshop "T" shirt, and $190 for room and
board. The registration fee should be mailed with your registration form to:

Cancellation with refund will be made until
June 10.
Room and board charges will be due by July
1st by sending your check to the above address.
Onsite registration is from 9:00 a.m. to
